Mad weekend

Believe it or not I was working form 8 am till 7 pm on Saturday. During that time I ran and met with the contractors to see the tile shop which they recommended with hubby. Didn't quite like the price and they didn't have the tiles which we previously looked at and liked. So we decided to tell them that we would rather want to go back to the previous tile warehouse and get the ones we looked.

Sunday came and we left home around 11 and got back home about 5:30. We went and finalised the tiles, went to IMM mall to get more ideas on the mattress prices and the air condition prices. After that we went to International Furniture Mall to see more mattresses. I think we would be going for Max Coil Latex mattress but our budget is SGD 1,500.

This week or rather this month is going to be such a crazy month. Oh and guess what! our previous owners requested to extend to stay longer at the place as they have no place to move. So seems we will only be getting the house on the 27th Feb. Oh well....

Busy weekend recap

So like I have mentioned in my Facebook status, we had a crazy weekend. Saturday started as a rather crazy but enjoying morning. Hubby and I went to the tiles warehouse called Soon Bee Huat which has truly amazing show room full of tiles and modal bathrooms. One good thing with hubby and I was that even though there were THOUSANDS of tiles, we still managed to stick to what we wanted and went straight to the tiles we were looking for.

After the visit to the warehouse, we came back home and around 1:45 we went to the house to wait for the contractors to visit the house for the actual quotation. We invited 2 contractors Mr Tan from Everton and Eric from Beauty World. It was weird that husband and I split and took care of one contractor each to go through each item in our list. All the contractors are amazed with Hubby's work on the 3D design for the work. Hope after the work it will come out if not exactly but somewhat as we are visualizing.

The contractors visit was ended around 3 and hubby and I came home for a while to rest and then we went to Mustafa to exchange some cash and we visiting the City Square Mall which is newly opened just right beside Mustafa centre. I still cannot believe why they would open a Mall beside Mustafa as though they do have enough stuff in Mustafa. Yes, I'm a Mustafa junkie. I love going to Mustafa but I do have my preference on the timing.

I bought a cute red canvas shoes (which I will take photo of later) and some woman apparel. Also, hubby was so sweetly accompanied me for dinner at Hong Kong style cafe, I was told it is called "Streets". Not bad at all. I had Wanton Mee with Honey and Lemon drink and hubby had club sandwiches with blue berry freeze. He loved it.

Well, that was about it for Saturday as we both were quite tired and also knew we would have to get up early on Sunday as hubby's sister in law and son were arriving rather early in the morning.

I went to bed around 11:30 on Saturday and wasn't sure what time Hubby came to bed but the next think I knew was the alarm going off at 7:20 and hubby coming in the room and telling me that the flight has landed and that we would have to go to airport as soon as possible.

Jumping up from the bed and straight away I got ready and went to airport. Poor things Sis in law and V were at McDonald's waiting for us and we joined them for breakfast over there. We weren't so so late but around 20 minutes.

Anyhoo, we had the visitors for the whole day at home and I was sneezing away to glory yesterday. Little V slept most of the day as he probably didn't have a good rest on the flight from India.

Our helper, Enu also came which was such a relief and she did a good job cleaning the spare bedroom and folding all the clothes. She's a great life saver! Around 3:50 we dropped SIL and V to the airport and again I was feeling a bit peckish that I had Polar curry puff and tea. I am really wondering how they make the tea at these cafes that it taste so good. Probably warming up the milk before putting the tea bag in? I don't know but I am curious to find out.

We got home around 5:30 and guess what! I passed out on the couch in front of tele and hubby fed Putu and also got himself a hair cut!!! I think I was out for like around 45 minutes and I got up to see hubby after shower. How amazing? Hubby doesn't need me to help him with the haircut anymore. Oh well...

Then we watched "Inside Man" again. Even though we have seen it but we both have forgotten some of the seens and the actual story. We only remember it was really good so we watched it again and had dinner at the same time. Hubby was over joyed with his butter chicken his Mom sent and had it for lunch and dinner.

Both of us were just too tired and pooped that we went to bed around 10:00.

Hubby's birthday celebration weekend

I am so sorry I did not post anything for the past few days. A few of my excuses :

  1. Busy celebrating hubby's birthday
  2. Didn't have the time
  3. No workouts to post
  4. Just being lazy
So here is a quick recap of Friday - Tuesday.

Friday the 20th Nov.

Work was not too bad and in the evening, we had to go for dinner and drinks at The Queen and Mangosteen at Vivo City. Despite the price, I always enjoy their mini burgers! Just delish. Have I told you my new love is Merlot? Yes, probably I already have. I had 2 glasses of Merlot and 2 shots which husband's friends bought for husband but he is not a big fan of shots. We got home around 11ish and went to bed around 1. My head was pounding.

Saturday 21st Nov.

We got up around 10ish and believe me this is the Saturday for us. I started cooking masala chicken from 10:30 till around 12:00 and during that time hubby cleaned and mobbed the house. After that we went for grocery shopping. Came back home and after putting things away, I started to call prawn and pumpkin curry. Mean while hubby made Sangria. Hubby also made Rajma (kidney beans in Indian style in pressure cooker). While making that, I cooked Pae Gyi ( big lentils) for soup. While all of those were on the stoves, I started to cut lady's fingers and it was around 3:30. During that madness, hubby and I managed to eat something in between. Can't really remember what we ate.

Then Audrey and Lionel came over and made blue berry cheese cake for hubby. Lovely friends aren't they? When ever thing was done and all of us finally sat down it was about 6 and we thought we'd watch Twilight while waiting for other 2 couples. And that's when I realised I totally am in love with Twilight.

Over all, the night went really well I guess. There was very little left over and I was quite happy to see all the guests loved my cooking. Here are some of them for you to enjoy.

Prawn and Pumpkin

Lady's Finger stir fry

Hubby's birthday blue berry cheese cake by Audrey and Lionel

We watched 2012 after guests went back and it was quite bad movie and went to bed. Oh, sorry no pictures of Sangria and hubby's Kidney beans. Bad photographer!!! (ha ha)

Sunday 22nd November,

The moment we woke up we were so pooped. So we/I decided to finish watching Twilight and then both of us did the dishes because our helper, Enu didn't come. Boy, I believe we used us every plates and spoons and forks we have.

Then we had left overs for lunch and watched Bedtime Stories and District 9. Didn't quite like the District 9 but quite enjoyed the Bedtime stories. At night, we watched Jennifer's Body. Crappy show. Yes, it seems like we had a movie marathon that day didn't we? In the evening, we decided to get out of the house and went to East Coast park and have Hoegarden and Stakes for dinner. It was a lovely evening out.

Monday 23rd November (Hubby's Birthday)

We took a break from the gym and also we didn't go anywhere. Hubby was having a bit of tummy pain and decided to just stay at home and finish up the left overs. Happy Birthday Hubby. ( I think I said that like nearly 50 times).

Quick recap of my mad week

It was truly a mad rush week for us last week. Well at least for me. We slacked in the exercise department last week.

Monday : No gym. Usual work and got home late. Hubby made dinner.

I would say healthy and hearty meal it was. Steamed vegetables with tomatoes Sheesh kabab.

Tuesday : Managed to hit the gym. However, it was exactly a week since we went to the gym so we both felt tired and felt we didn't get a good workout.

I could only run for:

  • Workout Time : 24:06 minutes
  • Calorie Burned : 156
  • Distance : 2.81 km
Wednesday : No workout again and busy day at work that got back home only around 8 pm. Oh and managed to reconnect to a very good friend, Ko Zaw Htet on yahoo message. Its always is nice to find old friends and to know how they are and what they are doing.

Thursday : I can't believe that Ko Zaw Htet actually sent the cook book I have been wanting for awhile. Yes, it is not available in Singapore. Its a burmese cook book and only available online. I have been contemplating of buying it for awhile and he got it for me as a gift! I can't wait to get it.

I worked till 1am that night for a tender submission on Friday.

Friday : No gym again because the moment I opened my eyes I was back on computer to work on the tender submission. I did not go in to office as it would be a waste of time to travel to office especially when there was so much to do. After working so hard, we didn't manage to bid for the tender because we were late for 5 minutes.

Anyhoo, after working whole day and no bid for the tender hubby was so sweetly invited me to join him and friends at Harry's. I had G&T. Then his friends decided to go to The Queen and Mangosteen" and we went with them for a little while. I must say their mini burgers are really delicious. Its a must try. However, the drinks were quite bad. I ordered frozen lime daiqiiri and it was basically a lime cordial. HORRIBLE!!!

We only stayed there for about 45 minutes and decided to head back and there I got a call from my boss saying they're in Vivo city where me and hubby were and wanted them to join for dinner. So as much as we were so tired, it would not have been nice to bail. So we went and joined them for dinner at Asian Kitchen. Hubby couldn't eat anymore and I only had nibbles of everything.
