Kicking of bad habit and other things

So, to continue of my last night's updates:

  • Even though I haven't managed to run 5k under 30 mins, I'm quite happy that I managed to run 6km.
  • We finally bought a KING size bed!! :)
  • Started to drive to work everyday and gain more confidence. (Tip to those who are afraid to drive or scared to drive. Don't. You just need to practice and have more experience on the road. you'll be fine and in no time driving will become a second nature to you. Trust me on this one).
  • Drove up to Kota Tinggi with a bunch of friends and it was another awesome experience.
  • Drove up to Desaru and Melacca with hubby.
  • Stuck in a traffic for 5 hours at the checkpoint which was such a crazy experience.
  • My best friend got MARRIED!!!!
  • Another friend of ours got MARRIED!!!
Ok, I think that's about it for the updates.
Now back to current.

Had a hectic day today. Full day of meetings but had a nice lunch. Took an excuse to treat a colleague and had Nando's for lunch :)

The morning was started good with a 4km run before work and felt pretty awesome. Evening was pretty good too with a nice dinner with hubby at the coner chinese place. The food is pretty pathetic but hey it was airconditioned and they've got some noodle soups. :)

Also, there's this bad habit I've been trying to kick. Which I know that I can however at times I just needed to do something for a kick and I found myself doing it. Not good I know. Well one thing I know for sure is if there's a will, there's a way and never too late when you know you want to do it. If today fails, I can start again from now. With that being said, I shall start again from now and I shall report back everyday.

By the way, there are like crazy amount of work which I've been pushing aside to do and I think I should probably get them started.

Right, I know I do this a LOT but I'm not going to stop just because I feel that I never accomplish them or follow through. Yes, I'm going to make a list of things to be a better person. Sometimes I think self reflecting is good.

  1. I shall call my parents more often. Which I have been doing it quite well recently. I must admit something. I dread calling back home for a few reasons. I'm afraid I'd get some bad news. I'm afraid to get lecture from my Mom. I'm afraid I'd say wrong things that would upset my Mom. But someone recently who calls their Mom everyday inspired me and reminded that our parents are aging and that we should be doing all we can to spend as much time as we can. Even if it is just a phone call.
  2. Keep up with the my gym sessions. At least 5 times a week which currently I am achiving.
  3. Eat more healthy meals and make them at home if possible.
  4. Have more faith in myself.
I know I'm going to add to this list and amazingly my mind just went blank! Shall continue tomorrow. Goodnight for now.

P.S A friend told me yesterday that I'm the best! Made my day.

After nearly a year and a half....here I am back again

So here I am. Back again and hope to keep this one going. Well just to keep a quick summary of what had happened while I was away for the past year and half.
  • I got a new role in my job. (which I do hope to keep it for a while longer even though it's been more than a year now)
  • Visited Goa and Jaipur!! one of the highlights.
  • Met some really great and interesting people through work and some were sadly no longer with the company for so many reasons.
  • Learnt a lot about different people too.
  • Been really good with workouts.
  • Running for more than 2 months every weekend. Even though it's only on the treadmill, doesn't mean that I will not run outdoor. One day I shall.
  • Been taking care of the home.
  • We got a new addition to the family. (Ginger. He's another adopted SPCA ginger color kitty.) We both love him dearly.

  • Went to Sydney over this year's Good Friday to spend some times with Pwa Pwa. (that reminds me to call her to see how things are with her).
  • Went on a cruise to celebrate our 4th year Anniversary together with a close friend couple in February. (Royal Caribbean). To those who has never been on a cruise, I truly recommend you to do so. But do make sure you choose this line. :)
Gosh, I can't believe how much I missed writing and documenting my daily life.

Ok, I gotta head off to bed for now. Hitting gym for my run in the morning. 6am will be the alarm time.

P.S, I still have tons to write up.

How is Yoga?

Well, today is my second day and I must say there were times I feel like just stop and walk away. Yes people, it's hard. Don't even think that it's just stretching and making interesting poses.

Even it is hard and in the middle I thought and wonder am I sure if I can take it I told myself that I am not going to give up. I have given up a few times and a few things in my life BUT I won't give up this time.

So that makes it my second session and I am hoping to make it for the rest of the year.

Now, let me wrap up my weekend adventures.

Saturday - I decided and told hubby that we shouldn't hit the gym that day as we have tons of things we needed to do. We:-

  • Went to the bank.
  • Went to Mustafa
  • Went to City Square Mall and have some hong kong food at STREATS! YUMMMMYYY
  • Walked around City Square Mall (Quite impressed with the number of food places over there)
  • Went to find out about the cost for the planks for the mattress (I hope this will solve my back pain problem)
  • Went to Casurina Cove to pick up my pendant my MIL sent.
  • Came back home and washed the car/waxed the car which took us over 2 hours!!!!(So, I guess we still did our workout just outside the gym)
  • When we got back to the house, hubby was starving and asked me to make him the noddles with minced meat and we polished it off.

Ended the Saturday with just some drinks and dinner at home.

Sunday - The moment we got up, we got ourselves ready for the gym. Of cuz while doing so, I squeezed in on my laundry.

I managed to start on my weight training for my UPBW.
Chest
Back
Shoulder
Biceps
Triceps

Also, I managed a HIIT for 20 mins! Pretty awesome it was.

Duration : 20:32 minutes
Distance : 2.20 km

Calories burned : 116
Sweat level : Really Good!

After gym it was around 12 noon and we headed to the travel agent to get my passport extended and to apply for hubby's visa for our February Trip.

Over there we decided to get some Burmese for lunch and hubby had the usual Mee Shay and I had my Kyaye O Si Chat :) Had to wait for awhile and it came only after hubby had already finished his food. :(

We came home after lunch and Enu rang the bell literally 2 minutes after we walked through the door at 2. So, finally the house is nicely broomed and mobbed and me likey!

The project we did this weekend was to make a little gate for Tinkle Bell for her to walk in and walk out of our bedroom. As it happened that she would be scratching the door in the middle of the night as she would get bored and want to go out. After that she would be meowing and scratching the door from outside in the morning cuz she wants to come in the room and jump on top of us and do her business.

The moment hubby made the hole she went through it! Hubby was extremely happy with this handy man work and that his little daughter knows how to make use of it. I will take picture of it and post it soon. The second thing we need to do is to add a flap on it so that it wouldn't look as ugly as now because we have a cut out card box stuck there at the moment.

That was our little project and in the evening once Enu has done and gone we went out to Arab street to meet up with Jit and Kanu for Sheesha and middle eastern food. We went to this place called Nabin at Haji Lane. Not too bad. I love the ambiance, food and the Sheesha over there.

We called it a night around 10:00 and after dropping off one of our friends we got home around 10:30 so hubby decided that we'd skip gym for today.

Anyhoo. I will keep you posted more of my plans on my workouts for the up coming weeks.

Leaving you with Tinki on hubby's side table.

Hubby's 34th Birthday

I know I promised that I'm back to update regularly but I didn't manage to. In any case, here's some updates here. Both hubby and I have been extremely busy lately that weeks are just flying passed like no one's business. Last weekend .....crap, I can't even remember what we did last weekend. Oh wait, ok on Saturday we went back to car showroom with Jit and Kanu as they were also set to buy the same Chevy as us but sadly it didn't happen as the prices had gone up. Then hubby and I went and roam around at Autobacs drooling at the car assesories. By the time we got home we were really really pooped and didn't even manage to think about going out for his pre birthday dinner. So that was Saturday.

Sunday and we did some house chores the moment we got up and then we set out to meet with hubby's Aunt and we went to watch Harry Porter, The deathly hollow Part 1. I loved it but hubby and his Aunt thought it was just an OK show. Oh well, to each their own :)

From the movies we went to Robinson and got my white fluffy bath mat. The best thing was it was 20% off woo hoo!!!! You won't believe it, after the shopping we went home and again, we had to set out to the Aunt's place to have dinner and help solve her wireless internet connection. Yes, I'm telling you hubby is their personal pc technician.

So it was our extremely tiring weekend. I didn't even mention that we did the house chores and other craps like laundry and cleaning. We didn't even manage to do any grocery shoppings.

Monday - : Nothing much happened except and I did manage to go shopping for Hubby's birthday gift :) and some drama at work made me reached home only after 8.

Tuesday - : Hubby's birthday and we both went to work and came home a tad early and we went to Ochre for dinner. It was THE BEST dinner for 2010 so far and I really hope Hubby enjoyed it.

Wednesday & Thursday nothing much exciting either. Except I feel a tad too tired and felt like as though I was going to hit by a flu bug but I hope not.

Well so now for this weekend. We do have a few things lined up to do...

  • Shop for Mom/Dad
  • Shop for Ashi's 1 year old son birthday gift
  • Pass the stuff to send for home
  • Go to Ashish's son's birthday
  • Clean up the house
  • Do laundry
  • Do grocery shopping
  • Might go to SITEX
So sorry this is just words only post and no exciting pictures.

Gorgeous Red Ruby kick start

So, I have been meaning to test out my beet root juice and guess what! I did on Saturday morning. It was just amazing. My Red Ruby (this is going to be the name of my Beet root juice) has 1 medium size beet root, 3 carrots and 2 green apples. I have read on the web somewhere that beet is good for the body however, one should not take too much of it and not to be alarmed to see red stool after having beet juice. So I didn't. Ok, so that was the start of our Saturday morning. How lovely? Then I started my usual routine and not much exciting.

  1. Did our week worth of laundry
  2. Made Bacon and Scrumble eggs for brunch with Hub.
  3. Got a little busy with have no idea what (clean cum watch Tele)
  4. Got a bad bad sneezing fit and had to take Citrizen
  5. Went to Mandarin Class
  6. From class we went to China town and did some fun shopping and I got two gorgeous glass containers for my flours and other knick knacks.
  7. We walked further up china town to find some food and had Wanton noddles and that was it for the dinner for Saturday.
  8. We watched "Clash of the Titans" and it was really good then we watched "Julie and Julia". Finally, I managed to watch it. Sadly Hub went missing half way through and realised he went to sleep. I watched it till the end:)
Sunday was a mad day but fun too. We got up around 9 and started out another busy morning. As usual I started cleaning the kitchen and we head out for grocery and india trip shopping at Giant. We got back around 12 and had to rush out for our lunch date with Aud and Lionel. Poor Lionel, he was there first and he waited for all of us for over an hour :) but in the end we all were so hungry and had lovely meal together at Imperial Treasure. Dim Sum is just awesome!

From Orchard we went to check out a place for Tinkle Bell during our India trip at the west and it was an OK place. Nothing great but at least she will have her own place. So let's see. It will cost us nearly 300$ to leave her there.  Then we went to my cousin's place and then went to buy my contact lens and from there we got home around 6:00. Woah, that's a lot of places we went yesterday.

For dinner, I made chicken schnizel and it was AAMMMAzingly good. I paired it with steamed choko and beans. Hubby loved it too. Then cleaned up the kitchen and watched "How to train a dragon". It was a cute movie and we both enjoyed it.

Now, back to work on a Monday morning and I promised myself this morning that I will try my best to get some work done.

I need more motiviation. Oh wait! here's one - > I'm going away this Friday!

Good meals with great friends

Over the weekend, as I have mentioned Aud and Lionel dropped by and we had a lovely roast lunch with salad and warm buns. First time making 2 birds for roast and I'm still impressed with myself that I managed it. The taste didn't change. The only sad thing was hubby had to work nearly whole of the weekend. He came only at 2am on Sunday night which means Monday morning 2am.

Now, I really don't know what I can do to motivate myself to work anymore. Have you ever felt this way? That you get up and you get too scared to think about what you'll have to do at work today and how is your boss going to treat you? It has becoming like a phobia for me to have to think about work and the workaholics at work don't help much. Anyways here goes a little recap of my week and guess what! we are back with our dinner at home routine :) This whole week we did not have dinner outside.

Monday - usual work day and had dinner at home. Finished up the left overs from the weekend.

Tuesday - I made Si Kyet Khout Swe (Burmese Chinese noddle) with the roast chicken left over and hubby had Masala maggie mee. After dinner we went and picked up my passport from the India vis and we got a nice surprise that I got multiple entry visa only thing is its valid for 6 months and each entry must have a 2 months gap in between. Then we hit to Mustafa for shopping. I just love going there to shop. They have everything and anything.

Wednesday - The usual for work and I made Kyar Zan Kyaw since we haven't had it for awhile and it's a quick meal.

Thursday - We COOKED vegetarian at home!!!! It was just last night but the meal was just exceptionally lovely. We made dhal with carrots and beans, grilled bhindi and a new vegetable which we tried to cook for the very first time. For me it is like baby bottle gourds. We bought it from Mustafa as I wanted to try it. Hubby knows what they are so hubby made it for us. It was delicious. I know I am lacking in photo departments and I promise to myself as well that I will make a point to take more photos in future.

So, the thing is we're going to India next week Friday. New Delhi and Bombay. Quite excited. Will update more later...

I am back!

I am really terrible I know but I am back and couldn't believe its been 4 months I haven't updated. Well just a quick update for now on what went on for the past 4 months.

  • The renovation completed in a little over a month and moved into our near and very first own house on the 10th of April
  • We had hubby's cousin moved in together with us for a few weeks
  • Parents in law came back from Indonesia and stayed with us for a couple of days and they loved the place and what we have done to the place.
  • I got really pissed off with my work and boss that I nearly quit. Nearly meaning I actually sent in my resignation letter but ended up continuing for a couple of reasons.
  • Mom fell and fractured her bone a little above the knee and sis in law and dad took care of her. Mom is really blessed and she was healed in no time.
  • Went back home for a couple of days to be with family and check on Mom and ended up Mom coming back with me. She needed a good change in the environment after being house bond for more than 2months.
  • Tinkle bell turns 1 year being with us on the 4th of July. Can you believe it???? She's big girl now.
  • Been cooking quite yummy stuff. I will try to post some of the recipes and share with all of you.
  • I have not been going to the gym nor running for all these months.
For now, I will need to get back to work and again, I am sorry for not updating here for many months.

A quick recap

I just realised that I haven't updated much this week. I must admit that I have been a bad bad girl. I didn't go to the gym at all this week. A quick recap:

Monday

Hubby got up early and got ready for gym while I was still lying in bed feeling SUPER sleepy. So hubby let me sleep more and we didn't go to the gym :)

Was quite happy to cook up the stir fry beef which was in the fridge since 2 weeks ago. Dinner was stir fry beef with rice and it was YUMMMY! of cuz Hubby did complain it was a tad salty. I learnt that I should not put any salf if I'm using soy sauce and Vegatta.

OH! at 7:30 the helper showed up!!!! ok, I need to rethink of changing her :) I do like her work.

Tuesday

Hubby went to the gym in the morning. I told him that I have to attend a full day training which starts at 8:30. Believe it or not, the training was for 1 participant and we are supposed to be the partners of the organising company. Anyhoo, it was an interesting training and we did enjoy the food. Snacks through out the day and lunch was at Olive Tree, Mediterranean restaurant. Wonder how much they charge per person.

Also, I made an appointment for Tinki's sterilization. We also bought a really cute carrier bag for Tinki so she'll be comfortable once her operation is done. I know, I have been lacking in photo department and I should do it soon.

Dinner, we just had it at Vivo. I tried the prawn noddle at Food Republic for the first time. It was quite good. No wonder every time we are at Food Republic there is always a line for the stall.

Wednesday

We had to send Tinki for her sterilization at 8:00 am. I bet she knew something was up. So no gym again and full day training again. Snack full day and lunch was a 8 or 6 course Chinese meal. Very yummy as well. Ok, I think I like food too much and I enjoy any sort of cuisine.

Hubby was getting worried about Tinki and called the clinic around 2:00 to check on her. The receptionist told him that the operation is over and that he could collect her anytime. So, off he went and picked her up. She was in a such a bad mood and poor little Tinki seems to be so much in pain from her groaning I heard when hubby called me.

I ran home after the training and putu was looking drowsy and weak. I also bought a E collar for her. Hubby managed to snap a few pictures. I promise I will upload them soon.

Dinner was GOOD! I made Thai basil chicken fried rice and hubby LOVED it.
