How is Yoga?

Well, today is my second day and I must say there were times I feel like just stop and walk away. Yes people, it's hard. Don't even think that it's just stretching and making interesting poses.

Even it is hard and in the middle I thought and wonder am I sure if I can take it I told myself that I am not going to give up. I have given up a few times and a few things in my life BUT I won't give up this time.

So that makes it my second session and I am hoping to make it for the rest of the year.

Now, let me wrap up my weekend adventures.

Saturday - I decided and told hubby that we shouldn't hit the gym that day as we have tons of things we needed to do. We:-

  • Went to the bank.
  • Went to Mustafa
  • Went to City Square Mall and have some hong kong food at STREATS! YUMMMMYYY
  • Walked around City Square Mall (Quite impressed with the number of food places over there)
  • Went to find out about the cost for the planks for the mattress (I hope this will solve my back pain problem)
  • Went to Casurina Cove to pick up my pendant my MIL sent.
  • Came back home and washed the car/waxed the car which took us over 2 hours!!!!(So, I guess we still did our workout just outside the gym)
  • When we got back to the house, hubby was starving and asked me to make him the noddles with minced meat and we polished it off.

Ended the Saturday with just some drinks and dinner at home.

Sunday - The moment we got up, we got ourselves ready for the gym. Of cuz while doing so, I squeezed in on my laundry.

I managed to start on my weight training for my UPBW.
Chest
Back
Shoulder
Biceps
Triceps

Also, I managed a HIIT for 20 mins! Pretty awesome it was.

Duration : 20:32 minutes
Distance : 2.20 km

Calories burned : 116
Sweat level : Really Good!

After gym it was around 12 noon and we headed to the travel agent to get my passport extended and to apply for hubby's visa for our February Trip.

Over there we decided to get some Burmese for lunch and hubby had the usual Mee Shay and I had my Kyaye O Si Chat :) Had to wait for awhile and it came only after hubby had already finished his food. :(

We came home after lunch and Enu rang the bell literally 2 minutes after we walked through the door at 2. So, finally the house is nicely broomed and mobbed and me likey!

The project we did this weekend was to make a little gate for Tinkle Bell for her to walk in and walk out of our bedroom. As it happened that she would be scratching the door in the middle of the night as she would get bored and want to go out. After that she would be meowing and scratching the door from outside in the morning cuz she wants to come in the room and jump on top of us and do her business.

The moment hubby made the hole she went through it! Hubby was extremely happy with this handy man work and that his little daughter knows how to make use of it. I will take picture of it and post it soon. The second thing we need to do is to add a flap on it so that it wouldn't look as ugly as now because we have a cut out card box stuck there at the moment.

That was our little project and in the evening once Enu has done and gone we went out to Arab street to meet up with Jit and Kanu for Sheesha and middle eastern food. We went to this place called Nabin at Haji Lane. Not too bad. I love the ambiance, food and the Sheesha over there.

We called it a night around 10:00 and after dropping off one of our friends we got home around 10:30 so hubby decided that we'd skip gym for today.

Anyhoo. I will keep you posted more of my plans on my workouts for the up coming weeks.

Leaving you with Tinki on hubby's side table.

Selamat Hari Raya

It's Hari Raya today which is a religious holiday for Muslims. So wishing all my muslim friends Selamat Hari Raya. You won't even believe how fast today went by. Also, you won't believe what time I woke up. 6:59! Yes, imagine on a holiday I was awake at 6:59 am! I feel like for holidays, I have so many things I can do and I shouldn't waste a single minute at all. So I got up and went to watch some tele as hubby was still in his dream land.

Well the one thing I must update is that I went jogging/running outside today!!! while hubby went to the gym. It was my first time running outdoor and also after like nearly 7 months of not running so I could only do like 3 mins of running 5 minutes of walking then another 3 minutes of running. Yeah, don't laugh. BUT hey I tried and I'm not going to give up. I'm going to keep on trying to run outdoor from now on. Save on Gym membership. While on the way back, I stopped by the train station and bought Mee Soto (gosh, what do to? I'm addicted to it now.) for myself and Mee Rabus for hubby. Met a Eurasian lady and started chatting for a few minutes.

My addiction, mee soto from the train station

Tinker Bell, giving my food evil eyes :) Yes, yes she's so concentrating on my food.
I really don't know if I should be giving Mee soto to a cat
Then we went to watch Resident Evil 4 in 3D with Jit and Kanu and it was not so bad but a lot of things/stories/reasons seems to be missing. Well you have to go and watch it to understand what I'm talking about. After that hubby and I had to run to the airport to meet hubby's sis in law and his nephew for awhile. They did a short transit at the airport on the way to India.

From there we came back home around 7:40 and around 8:30 we left for JUMBO to have a celebration dinner with Jit and Kanu. It was a lovely evening/day. Here are some fun shots from there day. Also, hubby is now working on the chairs while I am updating my journal and Putu is lying around keeping us company. It 1:06 am now.

Vivo city, Moon cake fair. Yes, it is already Moon cake season now.
Love the colors
Jumbo at East coast park
Sorry, food came and only thought of eating. No time to take pictures before diving in :)
We polished it all
Some interesting stuff. Click on pic to view in zoom. (If you are interested)
Are all those really fierce dogs? They all look cutie pies to me.
Remember! Stay on the right Track
Wake boarding park at East coast
Hubby and Tinki hard at work :)
Booo hooo, 2 more days till Monday kicks in again.

Friday evening dinner

I was actually hoping to go out on a date with hubby but he had to come back home and I know what that means. It just means that we won't be going out. So I just decided to make something at home.

Fried noodle Yangon china town style and we loved it!! I was so amazed and proud of myself :) Just minced beef with tons of vegetables and egg noodle. It was really really good. Then I also took some pictures while waiting for hubby's return.

These are the views from our breakfast table side. Ok, now movie time and we're going to watch "The Wolf Man". Enjoy the weekend.

Goodnight.

BTW, my Dad's operation went well and thank you for the prayers.

Renovation Day 4

Today we managed to go and check on the house in the evening as I managed to get off work a tad early. There are a lot of progress even though the debris is yet to be cleaned up we saw that our tiles and cement have arrived. At 6:40pm there were workers still carrying the cements and bricks up to the apartment. I must say the contractors are at least to this point doing their best.

We did not manage to take lots of pictures today but Nakul went to the house in the afternoon so he snapped some pictures and sent them over to my phone. So here are a few of those.

Kitchen area entrance has been broken down.

Both toilets walls are down. I will try and take more pictures tomorrow when we go there tomorrow. For now, I will leave with Putu's so sweetly watching hubby cooking dinner from up above.

Uhmm ok, I realised Putu doesn't look so sweet in pictures but trust me, she does look cute in real life :)

Good night.

Drama at work and Massage on a Saturday Morning

Yesterday evening was not so great at work. A tad drama full at work. Well, I don't think I need to go into so much detail about my work because I am sure anyone can understand. Last night I was so tired when I got home that I just dropped everything and had a can of Tiger and waited for hubby to be back. Hubby came back drenched because he was caught in the rain and we had instant noddles for dinner as we were just too tired to go out or make something to eat.

Lunch was at Aroy Thai at Funan as a company Chinese new year lunch.

Believe it or not, we slept before 11 last night. This morning we got up around 8 45. First thing, we hit the gym and I did some of my upper body core work out. However, it was only for half an hour and I couldn't resist but to go and run for at least 10 minutes :) and I was pleasant surprised that I can now run for 1.4 K in 10 minutes.

Then I went to get my massage done and it was really nice. Of cuz she was having a hard time trying to get the knots from my back to smooth out.

I found this on the web about massage benefits

Some pictures of Putu lying comfy on the floor cushion.

Touch Pics

Here are some pictures of my iPod Touch and a pair of pants I bought this evening from Marks & Spencer.

Also a little update of our little girl Tinki/Putu :) realised it has been awhile since I last updated her pictures.

Let's see if we would manage to hit the gym tomorrow. If we do, I might do the weights for my upper body.

Randon

I just thought of putting up some Tinki's pictures which we took yesterday. While we were watching The Mist, Tinki was sleeping beside us on her favourite chair. We just couldn't resist how cute she looks when she was sleeping so we took some pictures and here they are.

Enjoy.

Its going to be a busy busy day

YES! we did it. We got a record of cooking at home for the whole of 5 weekdays. Here's what I made last night  for dinner.

1. Tamarine pork curry (Recipe from Hsaba Cook Book)
2. Really messy tomato salad
3. Rice

I couldn't believe how quick this meal is as well. I enjoy cooking however, I still need to find a way to make my life easy when chopping onions. :( Yes, I still cry miserably. Last night I had a glass of Lindemans with some kisses.

I really enjoyed this wine as its half body and smooth. Hubby did a good job buying this and I am pretty sure will be buying this again. We went to bed rather early for a Saturday night, 10:30 without doing the dishes :)

So, morning came and hubby did the dishes and also made a cup of tea for me. How nice?

I've got a few items lining up for the day.

1. Meeting with my tailor to get a blouse and longyi/skirt made for my brother's wedding at Arab's street to buy the material.

2. We have also been invited for lunch at hubby's Aunt's place.

3. Planning to do a scrap book for the house. Now that we are pretty much settled on what we want to do with the house I think we should document it down properly.

4. Gym (If I can squeeze in the time for)

5. Laundry

6. Grocery shopping.

So, I'm going to get ready now. I'm leaving you with a few shots of Tinki which I took yesterday.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Our first REAL TV! AND A GREAT NEWS!

I just got a call from my Mom and she gave me such a great news. My brother has decided to get married to his 7 years girl friend!!! How gorgeous is that! I'm excited and I can't wait to know when they are planning.

Ok, back to the normal program.

So our 46" Samsung LCD TV was delivered today! When I saw the box I got a shocked! I seriously thought that it would fill up the whole wall in our living room. Of cuz, boxes have all the protection stuff and when I saw the actual TV it actually doesn't look so big for our living at all. Well at least for the room we have now and we'll have to wait and see for our new house when we move.

Well I haven't managed to charge my camera just yet and I took these pictures with my phone. So, you have to excuse the quality but HEY! at least they're here.

Last night, hubby and me watched Indian and Australia cricket match till quite late. I didn't watch till end but hubby did. India won!! About time I would say. We have been staying late supporting them and every time they let us down. Finally they won! Today Enu came which was a good thing as our bathrooms and floors really need a good scrubbing and she did a good job today.

Also last night, while watching cricket I got peckish and made pan cakes with honey. It was my first ever attempt to make pan cakes from scratch and no from a mix, it turned out REALLY AWESOME!!! I am so making them again. Hubby also loved them.

I am quite happy with myself this weekend because :

1. laundry was done!
2. house cleaned!
3. cleaned up the spare bedroom ( well 95%, I just need to put the clothes away)
4. Grocery shopping
5. cooked all the meals at home and so far I have cooked up nearly everything we bought yesterday.
6. washed the day curtains which were screaming for a good wash.
7. washed couch cover.
8. bought contact lens. (my usual brand was apparently discontinued so I am going to try this brand call En-core). I hope it suits me.
9. back updating my journal.

Some meals I cooked today.

Lunch : Minced pork with basil Thai style. Pae Hin Cho (red lentil soup Burmese style), Stir fried lady's fingers with onions. Crispy yogurt dried chilli.

Snack : Jiten and Kanu came over in the evening for the inauguration of our TV :) and made shammi sabobs with onions and coriandar.

Dinner : Well I think i got a little tired by this time and we just decided to heat water and had cup noodles :)

Now, thinking about feeling a bit satisfy with myself but both hubby and I have been really slacking off in our exercise department! Hubby did ask last week to see if we could go for jogging in the gym (he shouldn't be doing any weight exercise just yet because of his elbow.) and we didn't. So this is something we should be getting back into.

We didn't do anything interesting for Halloween but did you? I know that I have been also lacking on the photo department so here are some of the photos I snapped last night with my phone of Tinki and our herbs.

This is the crystal vase that my MIL bought for me.

Chillies

Basil

Mint

Tinki sleeping with her tongue sticking out.

Today's Note : Cook more at home. Its healthier, save money and more enjoyable. Not only those meals that have to spend 100s of dollars nice.
